Many male friends hope that their testicles will become bigger, so that they will feel more confident. In fact, the size of testicles is within a certain range. If it exceeds this range, it will cause some adverse effects on the body and make it more susceptible to certain types of diseases. In addition, you must take proper care of your testicles to ensure that your testicles are not affected by diseases. The male internal reproductive organs include the testicles, epididymis, vas deferens, ejaculatory ducts, prostate, seminal vesicles and bulbourethral glands. Testicle: The testicle is a male reproductive gland, one on each side, oval in shape, suspended in the scrotum by the spermatic cord, about 4 to 5 cm long, 3 to 4 cm thick, and weighing about 15 grams each. It is the organ that produces male reproductive cells (i.e. sperm) and is also the main endocrine gland that produces male hormones. Internal structure of the testis: There is a thick layer of dense connective tissue membrane on the surface of the testis, called the tunica albuginea. The inner side of the tunica albuginea is loose connective tissue with abundant blood vessels, called the vascular membrane. The tunica albuginea of the testis thickens on its dorsal side and sinks into the testis to form the testicular septum. The septum radially extends into the testicular substance, dividing the testis into several lobules. Each lobule contains 1-3 curved seminiferous tubules, which merge into a short and straight seminiferous tubule at the top of the lobule and enter the septum. These tubules anastomose with each other in the septum to form a network, which forms the rete testis. From the rete testis, 12-13 curved tubules are emitted, called testicular efferent ducts, which pass through the tunica albuginea and enter the epididymal head. The interstitial cells in the seminiferous tubules can secrete male hormones, promoting the development and maintenance of male reproductive organs and male secondary sexual characteristics. The epithelial cells of the seminiferous tubules have the function of producing sperm. The seminiferous tubules combine with each other to form straight seminiferous tubules, which are the pipeline system for sperm transportation. Finally, they converge and merge into a tube to enter the epididymal head and are discharged from the body through the vas deferens. Epididymis: The epididymis is formed by the winding of the epididymis duct at the posterior edge of the testis. There are fine fibrous tissue and honeycomb tissue between the tubules. It is divided into three parts: head, body, and tail. The testicular head is composed of the efferent duct, and the wall of the duct is composed of pseudostratified columnar epithelium, which contains two types of cells, one is the columnar epithelium with cilia; the other is the low columnar secretory cell. The cells are arranged alternately in height, so the lumen is irregular and has a sawtooth shape. The body and tail of the epididymis are composed of the epididymis duct, which is composed of pseudostratified columnar ciliary epithelium. The epithelium is uniform in height, so the lumen is regular. The epididymis is slender and flat, and is also half-moon-shaped. There is one on each side, about 5 cm long, attached to the posterior side of the testis. The epididymis has the functions of storing and discharging sperm, promoting sperm maturation, and secreting fluid to provide sperm nutrition. The above physiological functions are completed through the absorption, secretion and concentration functions of the epididymis epithelial cells. |
