Male reproductive organ disease

Male reproductive organ disease

There are many diseases of the male reproductive organs. For example, the most common ones are phimosis and balanitis, which are the most common reproductive organ diseases. In addition, orchitis and epididymitis are also relatively common reproductive organ diseases. There are many causes of reproductive organ diseases, including some inflammatory causes and may also be related to some reproductive organ malformations. For such diseases, the cause must be identified first, and then regular treatment should be carried out.

Male reproductive organ disease

1. Orchitis

It is often a complication of epididymitis. In severe cases, it can develop into epididymal orchitis. It can also be secondary to systemic diseases such as mumps, syphilis, and tuberculosis. Whether the inflammation originates from the testicles or comes from other systems, the testicles are damaged. Orchitis caused by mumps is mostly unilateral. If it is bilateral, it can cause infertility due to testicular atrophy. At this time, severe damage to the spermatogenic epithelium can be seen. Therefore, unilateral testicular damage still has reproductive ability, but if bilateral testicular damage occurs, it can cause oligospermia or azoospermia. Orchitis or epididymitis caused by gonorrhea can lead to loss of testicular function and partial or complete obstruction of the epididymis.

2. Epididymitis

Especially chronic epididymitis, which often coexists or occurs successively with chronic prostatitis and chronic seminal vesiculitis. During the development of inflammatory lesions, the epididymal lumen may become thinner and narrower due to scar formation, or even develop into complete closure of the lumen. If the lesion is bilateral, it may cause infertility.

3. Balanitis and glansitis

It is a common disease. When suffering from it, sexual intercourse becomes difficult and fertility is affected. Generally, the course of the disease is short and it has no major impact on fertility after the inflammation is cured. However, you should be alert to similar symptoms such as gonorrhea and syphilis that appear on the glans penis.

4. Inflammation of accessory glands, epididymis or testicles

Autoimmune infertility may sometimes occur due to damage to the blood-testicular barrier or changes in the structure of sperm antigen molecules.
