Effects of Phimosis

Phimosis refers to the male foreskin being too long, which causes the male penis to be completely wrapped in the foreskin. Because the normal male penis is exposed at the glans penis, if the foreskin is too long, the male glans penis cannot be exposed normally, the male genitals will develop slowly, and it will also cause interference to the male's future sexual life and even cause sexual diseases. So what are the effects of phimosis on male health?

Phimosis refers to the condition in which the penis skin covers the glans penis after adulthood, so that the glans penis cannot be fully exposed. It can be divided into true phimosis and false phimosis. True phimosis means that the glans penis cannot be fully exposed even after the penis is erected; false phimosis means that the glans penis cannot be fully exposed at ordinary times, but can be fully exposed after the penis is erected. Phimosis means that the foreskin completely covers the glans penis, and the glans penis cannot be exposed at any time.

Prepuce and phimosis can easily cause the following adverse effects:

1. Premature ejaculation: It is most common when the foreskin covers the glans penis, but the glans penis is exposed during erection. Since the glans penis mucosa is usually hidden under the foreskin, it is rarely rubbed and stimulated, making the nerves of the glans penis mucosa oversensitive. During sexual intercourse, the glans penis is exposed after erection. When the glans penis and the vagina are rubbed and stimulated, the oversensitive nerves of the glans penis mucosa will trigger premature ejaculation, causing premature ejaculation.

2. No ejaculation: Contrary to the reason of premature ejaculation caused by excessive foreskin, no ejaculation is often caused by foreskin. In this case, because the glans penis is overprotected by the skin, the rich neurotransmission stimulation and the function of stimulating sexual excitement of the glans penis disappear, and the stimulation intensity required to stimulate ejaculation cannot be achieved during sexual intercourse, so no ejaculation is likely to occur. This often prevents men from experiencing the joy and pleasure brought by sex.

3. Potential risk of cancer: Many years ago, the medical community discovered that the incidence of penile cancer in Jewish men and cervical cancer in Jewish women was extremely low. Investigations and studies have found that the religious custom of the Jewish people is to remove the foreskin (circumcision) soon after the boy is born. Further studies have shown that male smegma (residual urine crystals) is one of the important causes of male penile cancer and female cervical cancer.

4. Affecting the normal development of the glans: In some patients with phimosis, if there are repeated urethral infections, it is easy to cause adhesion between the foreskin and the glans mucosa, affecting the normal development of the glans, and in severe cases, glans deformity.

If it is pseudo-phimosis, after the glans penis is exposed after erection, the foreskin will not cause pressure, pain, or discomfort to the penis, so no surgery is required. Just flip the foreskin open to expose the glans penis and let the glans penis get used to flipping open and exposing, that's all (you can buy medical tape to fix it, and the paper tape will not cause skin allergies), and you can usually get used to it in about two weeks.

If the foreskin is too long, and the foreskin presses on the penis and glans after erection, causing pain and discomfort, or if the foreskin is phimosis, it is better to have a "circumcision". This is just a minor outpatient surgery, and any surgeon in a regular hospital at the county level or above can easily perform it.
