What hormones do the testicles secrete?

The health of male testicles can be checked through secretions, but what hormones do testicles secrete? Both men and women need to secrete a steroid hormone, which is also called sex hormone, and is also a very necessary hormone for the body. If men cannot secrete normally or secrete too little, they can take oral medication to promote it, but the dosage must be controlled.

Testosterone (also known as testosterone, testosterone or testosterone) is a steroid hormone secreted by the testicles of men or the ovaries of women. The adrenal glands also secrete a small amount of testosterone. It has the functions of maintaining muscle strength and quality, maintaining bone density and strength, refreshing and improving physical fitness.

Testosterone is a white crystalline powder with no odor. Mp155℃, specific rotation [α]24D+109°(4%, ethanol), ethanol solution has maximum absorption at 240nm wavelength. It is easily soluble in ethanol (1:5) and chloroform (1:2), soluble in ether (1:100), and insoluble in water. LD50 (rat, intravenous) 326 mg/kg. The molecular formula is C19H28O2, the molecular weight is 288.42400, the density is 1.12 g/cm3, the melting point is 152-156 °C, and the boiling point is 432.9ºC at 760mmHg.

Testosterone is a small molecular weight cytoskeletal associated protein that works by interacting with other cytoskeletal proteins.

Testosterone is a secretory glycoprotein originally identified from the culture medium of mouse testicular Sertoli cells. It can be tightly bound to the cell surface through receptor-associated proteins.

Pharmacological action

This product is a natural androgen, and its propionate ester is used clinically, generally known as testosterone propionate. A variety of pure and effective sex hormones that can be extracted from male urine are secreted by testicular interstitial cells and are collectively referred to as androgens, of which the most important is testosterone. The testicles are not the only organ that secretes testosterone, and the adrenal cortex and female ovaries also secrete a small amount. Although testosterone is easily absorbed after oral administration, it is quickly destroyed by the liver and cannot exert any pharmacological effect. The androgens currently used in clinical practice are all artificially synthesized. In addition to its androgenic effects, testosterone also has a significant effect of promoting protein synthesis, also known as anabolic effect. In modern times, it has been found from some synthetic testosterone derivatives that the androgenic activity of some derivatives has been greatly weakened, while the anabolic effect is retained as it is or even enhanced. In order to distinguish it from real testosterone, these testosterone with anabolic effect are called anabolic hormones. The pharmacology of inductive testosterone has the following effects: 1. Promote and maintain male secondary sexual characteristics. 2. Restore and maintain positive nitrogen balance. 3. Reduce the excretion of chlorine, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sodium in men and some women. 4. Stimulate the growth of bones, skeletal muscles, hair and skin. 5. Increase red blood cell production, and promote angiogenesis and skin darkening. 6. Large doses can inhibit the secretion of male gonadotropin. 7. Can antagonize the effects of excessive estrogen on female breasts and endometrium.
