Why does sperm taste bitter?

Why does sperm taste bitter?

In life, I believe many people know what sperm tastes like, so it is not clear what happens to sperm. In fact, sperm is a protein liquid and is normally tasteless. If semen becomes bitter, it may be due to semen oxidation or it may be related to men’s diet. Too much protein intake will cause semen to taste bitter, and if there is no pain in the genitals, there is generally no disease.

What does semen smell like?

The taste of semen is a mixture of fluids. It is not a simple body fluid. In addition to sperm, semen also contains various secretions such as prostatic fluid, epitesticular fluid, urethra, and vas deferens. It may have a strange smell in itself.

Normal semen is composed of a chemical called arginine that is oxidized and emits a smell that is very similar to chestnut blossoms. Arginine is one of the many components contained in prostate secretions. The oxidation of arginine must be done through sexual arousal, when the prostate secretes prostatic fluid and seminal vesicle fluid to produce the smell. The smell of semen secreted by the prostate is also related to the food consumed, and different foods will produce different smells.

Why does semen taste bitter?

Many men are told that their semen tastes bitter, and they get very panicked when they hear this. So what exactly is the reason for the bitter semen?

This is related to the food we eat. If you eat too much meat or other protein-containing foods, it will taste a bit bitter. The taste of semen itself is a bit astringent and bitter. If you eat different foods, subtle changes will occur. For example, eating oranges will make the semen a little sweeter.

If you don't feel any discomfort, you can ignore the bitter taste of semen. Generally, semen tastes a bit bitter, which is inseparable from the food we usually eat.

How to improve the taste of semen

Everyone's semen tastes different, and our main goal is to improve the semen to a sweet taste.

1. Avoid cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine, and stimulants, as these will make the taste of semen worse and worse.

2. Drink plenty of water every day to help the body detoxify.

3. Eat enough fruits every day to sweeten your semen. Pineapples, papayas, watermelons, mangoes, apples and grapes are all good choices. These fruits are rich in sugar and can neutralize the bitter taste in semen.

4. Eat enough vegetables. Vegetarians' semen will taste better, but you should also eat less cauliflower, cabbage and asparagus.

5. Quit junk food. The chemical additives and preservatives in these foods will affect the taste of body fluids and semen. The more natural the food, the better. You can consider supplementing zinc and selenium.
