At what age do boys stop growing?

For some children, the most important thing in their daily life is the growth and development of the body, because if the body develops well, not only will the height be taller, but the physical quality will also be very high. However, some children's bodies will be affected by many factors, and they may even have problems with developmental problems. So, at what age will boys stop developing?

Because the age of entering puberty is different, the age at which growth spurts begin is also different. Generally speaking, the age at which girls' growth spurts begin is 2 years earlier than boys', at around 10 years old, while boys' growth spurts begin at around 12 years old.

Therefore, the average height of girls aged 11 to 13 is higher than that of boys of the same age. About one year after the peak growth rate appears, girls will have their first menstruation. Once menstruation comes, the growth rate of height will slow down significantly. At the age of 14 to 16, the growth and development level of boys exceeds that of girls of the same age, and the growth rate of height is significantly accelerated. In addition, boys stop growing later and have a longer growth period. Therefore, the height growth of boys during the growth spurt is greater. In this way, by the end of puberty, the height of boys is significantly higher than that of girls of the same age. Girls can grow 5 to 7 cm per year, up to 9 to 10 cm; boys can grow 7 to 9 cm, or even 10 to 12 cm. According to national survey data, the average height of 17-year-old urban boys is 168.6 cm, which is about 10 cm higher than the average height of girls of the same age.

After about 3 years, the growth rate slows down until the height of women stops growing at around 17 and the weight of men stops growing at around 22. The bones, muscles and fat of men and women have certain differences in quality, quantity and distribution, and there is also a significant difference in weight between men and women.
