Left lower abdominal pain in men

Left lower abdominal pain in men

In life, many men often feel stomach pain. In fact, most of the causes of men's stomach pain are due to poor gastrointestinal health or colitis. No matter which reason it is, if the pain occurs frequently, it should be treated in time. If it is not treated in time, it may cause the disease to be delayed, and in severe cases, it may also affect the male's sexual function. So what is the reason for men's left lower abdominal pain?

Causes of left lower abdominal pain in men

1. Pain in the left lower abdomen may be caused by sigmoid colitis or proctitis, characterized by pain in the left lower abdomen accompanied by changes in the frequency of bowel movements or stool characteristics. Chronic colitis is an autoimmune disease that may be related to infection with certain pathogens, genetic genes, and mental factors. Most cases have a long course of illness and are difficult to cure, especially ulcerative colitis, where the stool contains mucus and purulent blood, causing great pain to the patient.

2. The causes of left lower abdominal pain include left ureteritis and left ureteral stones. Left lower abdominal pain is often accompanied by left lumbar paraspinal pain, or left waist soreness, accompanied by paroxysmal colic and submicroscopic hematuria, and left ureteral caliber tenderness.

3. Pain in the left lower abdomen is more commonly caused by prostatitis. The characteristic of prostatitis is a feeling of heaviness and pressure in the perineum or suprapubic area, which worsens when sitting for a long time or defecating, and radiates to the waist, lower abdomen, back, thighs, etc.

4. Varicose vein varicocele is also a common cause of left lower abdominal pain. Varicose vein varicocele often occurs on the left side. The characteristics of male left lower abdominal pain are more obvious when sitting, and the pain radiates to the left perineum, which may be accompanied by testicular pain. When varicocele occurs, the scrotum is enlarged, with a heavy and bloated feeling. It is aggravated when standing, walking, and working, and relieved after lying down and resting.

Men's left lower abdominal pain is mostly caused by prostatitis. It is recommended to go to the hospital for examination.

First, prostatitis laboratory tests. Prostatitis patients can undergo prostatitis laboratory tests, which can reveal elevated white blood cell counts, up to 2×109/L; pus cells or white blood cells in urine; a large number of white blood cells or pus cells and fat-containing macrophages in prostatic fluid; and bacteria can be detected by smear staining of urethral secretions and prostatic fluid.

Second, rectal examination. Men with prostatitis can also undergo rectal examination, which shows that the prostate is full, enlarged, soft, and slightly tender. For patients with a long illness, the prostate will become smaller, harder, uneven in texture, and have small nodules.

Third, B-ultrasound examination. B-ultrasound examination of patients with prostatitis can show that the boundaries of the prostate tissue structure are unclear and disordered.

Fourth, prostate fluid examination . Prostate fluid examination for prostatitis can reveal that the number of white blood cells in the prostate fluid exceeds 10 in the high-power field of view of the microscope, and the lecithin bodies decrease. The above are the reasons for men's lower left abdominal bloating and pain, mainly including: left lower abdominal pain may be caused by sigmoiditis, proctitis, ureteritis, left ureteral stones, prostatitis, etc. Men's hospital experts said that the most common cause is prostatitis, and you need to go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause and receive corresponding treatment.
