Can the male's epilepsy still be passed on after it is cured?

Everyone has heard of epilepsy. In fact, epilepsy is called epilepsy in medicine. This disease mainly occurs in the brain and is a chronic disease. When epilepsy does not occur, it will not have any effect. However, when it occurs, not only will the whole body tremble, but there may also be foaming at the mouth, which is particularly frightening. Clinically, there are ways to treat epilepsy, but this disease always recurs and is difficult to cure. So, can the male epilepsy be inherited after it is cured?

This disease is largely genetic. After regular anti-epileptic drug treatment, about 70% of epilepsy patients can have their seizures controlled, and 50% to 60% of them can be cured after 2 to 5 years of treatment. Patients can work and live like normal people. So you have to have confidence. Actively treat.

Epilepsy, commonly known as "epilepsy" or "epilepsy", is a chronic disease in which brain neurons suddenly discharge abnormally, leading to short-term brain dysfunction. According to the latest epidemiological data in China, the overall prevalence of epilepsy in China is 7.0‰, the annual incidence is 28.8/100,000, and the prevalence of active epilepsy within 1 year is 4.6‰. Based on this, it is estimated that there are about 9 million epilepsy patients in China, of which 5 to 6 million are active epilepsy patients. At the same time, there are about 400,000 new epilepsy patients each year. Epilepsy has become the second most common disease in neurology in China, second only to headache.

Classification of epileptic seizures

The epileptic seizure classification scheme proposed by the International League Against Epilepsy in 1981 is currently widely used. Epileptic seizures are divided into partial/focal seizures, generalized seizures, and unclassifiable seizures. In 2010, the International League Against Epilepsy proposed the latest epileptic seizure classification scheme, which reclassified and supplemented epileptic seizures. Although the new scheme summarizes the progress of epilepsy research in recent years, it is more comprehensive and complete.

Partial/focal seizures: refers to seizures in which the initial symptoms and EEG changes indicate that "neurons in a certain part of the cerebral hemisphere are activated first". They include simple partial seizures, complex partial seizures, and secondary generalized seizures.

Generalized seizures: refers to seizures in which the initial symptoms and EEG changes indicate that "both cerebral hemispheres are affected simultaneously". They include absence, muscle claudication, rigidity, convulsion, tonic-clonic, and atonic seizures.

Unclassifiable seizures: Seizures that cannot be classified due to insufficient or incomplete data or that cannot be classified using current classification criteria (e.g., convulsive seizures).
