Sperm is actually a very important criterion for judging the physical health of male friends, so it is best to go to the hospital regularly for regular sperm tests, so that many unnecessary problems can be avoided. Many people will find that their sperm is salty during the examination. This is actually not a relatively normal situation. You still have to go to the hospital for examination to know the specific problem and avoid delaying treatment. 1. Color: Normal semen is gray or milky white. Light yellow is seen in people with long intervals between ejaculations. Brown-red color is seen in seminal vesiculitis, seminal vesicle tumor, prostatitis, and occasionally in urethral stones. Odor: Distinctive smell similar to carob or chestnut blossoms. 2. Liquefaction: Semen is thick and jelly-like when it is just ejaculated. It liquefies and becomes a thin liquid after about 3 to 30 minutes. Semen does not coagulate in congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens and associated absence of the seminal vesicles. Semen that fails to liquefy for more than 30 minutes is seen in patients with prostate and seminal vesicle diseases. Increased semen viscosity is seen in abnormal secretion of the prostate's liquefaction enzyme system. 3. Semen volume: Normal volume is 2~6ml, average volume is 3ml, less than 1ml or more than 8ml is abnormal. Decreased fluid volume is common in cases of prostate and seminal vesicle lesions or retrograde ejaculation. Acidity: Normal pH is 7.0-7.8. When semen is acidic, sperm activity and metabolism levels decrease When semen is alkaline, sperm motility increases, but when it is too alkaline, it decreases. Causes of blood in semen Blood in semen is called hematospermia. The causes of hematospermia include: (1) Inflammation of the reproductive tract: such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, urethritis, epididymitis, spermatic cord prostate stones, and urethral bladder stones. (2) Seminal tract obstruction and cyst. (3) Tumors and vascular abnormalities. (4) Systemic factors: hypertension, hemophilia. (5) Reproductive tract injury. Determining the cause of blood in sperm If the back of the semen is red and the front is milky white, it is likely prostatitis or posterior urethritis or ejaculatory ductitis. If the semen discharged by male friends is all blood red, it is likely to be seminal vesiculitis. In addition, if the color of male blood semen is bright red, it means proximal bleeding, and if it is dark red blood, it is mostly related to inflammation. |
