Urethral instillation for prostatitis

Urethral instillation for prostatitis

Prostatitis is a common male disease and is very harmful. Once discovered, it must be treated actively. There are many ways to treat prostatitis clinically, such as urethral instillation therapy, but the effect is not very ideal and may even cause certain harm; experts say that conventional treatments and Chinese medicine treatments are quite effective, and surgery can also achieve good results.

1. Urethral instillation therapy for the treatment of prostatitis

Principle: Use pressure to push the antibiotic solution back into the prostate duct from the opening of the prostate duct in the urethra and diffuse into the prostate lobules.

Drugs: The basic drug is antibiotics, which are selected by bacterial culture of prostatic fluid. Dexamethasone, 1% lidocaine, and atropine can be added. The drug solution should be retained for 30 minutes or longer.

2. General treatment of prostatitis

1. In terms of diet, drink more water and urinate more often, which can flush the urethra, help eliminate prostate secretions, and reduce irritation symptoms. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy foods.

2. Rest, apply hot compress to the perineum, sit bath, laxative, relieve spasms and pain, reduce fever, etc.

3. Relieve mental worries, keep a good mood, exercise, maintain a regular life, and enhance confidence in treatment.

4. In terms of sexual life, the number of sexual intercourses should not be too frequent, and "intercourse interruptions" should be avoided to reduce congestion of prostate tissue, but abstinence is not necessary.

3. Chinese medicine treatment of prostatitis

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that chronic prostatitis is often a mixture of deficiency and excess, with kidney deficiency as the main symptom and spleen deficiency as the auxiliary symptom, or blood stasis, or dampness and heat. Among them, the most common syndrome is kidney deficiency with dampness and heat.

4. Radio frequency, microwave, infrared, ultrasound and other external physical therapies

The principle of using electric field and wave energy to make tissues heat up cannot fundamentally improve the pathological changes caused by factors such as inflammation, but can only temporarily relieve the symptoms. Moreover, radio frequency radiation and various external touch therapies can also cause some damage to the organs around the prostate. In short, for the above therapies, either because the efficacy is not very certain, or there is no treatment method that can be easily accepted by patients, or because there is a possibility of causing impotence and infertility, resulting in limited application to men of normal reproductive period, they have not been widely used.
