What are the common symptoms of male urinary system diseases?

The human urinary system mainly includes the kidneys, bladder, urethra and ureters. Urinary system diseases are mainly diseases of these organs. Common urinary system diseases in men mainly include cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis, etc. Nowadays, it is very common for men to suffer from urinary system diseases, which is closely related to men's living habits. For example, heavy smoking and drinking, unclean sexual life, etc., can easily lead to urinary system diseases in men.

1. Hematuria

Hematuria is a common symptom of urinary system diseases. In patients with mild hematuria, the urine color is normal to the naked eye, and only the red blood cells increase under the microscope, which is called submicroscopic hematuria; in patients with heavy bleeding, the urine color is often meat-washing water-like, dark brown or bright red, which is called gross hematuria. Hematuria must first rule out pseudohematuria caused by menstrual, vaginal, rectal bleeding or strenuous exercise. There are many causes of hematuria, and the vast majority are caused by diseases of the urinary system itself. The most common urological diseases that cause hematuria include: urinary system tumors, urinary system stones, urinary tract infections and some glomerular diseases. In addition, some systemic diseases and diseases of the adjacent organs of the urinary system may also cause hematuria.

2. Pain

Obstruction and inflammation of the urinary system can often cause pain. When urinary stones cause upper urinary tract obstruction, severe pain of a colic nature may occur. Inflammation of the urinary system can also cause severe pain. Acute urinary retention and excessive bladder distension can also cause severe pain. In contrast, staghorn stones in the renal pelvis and large stones in the bladder often do not cause severe pain; urinary system tumors usually do not cause pain before obstruction occurs and invades the nerves around the affected organs. Tumors accompanied by pain often indicate that the disease has entered an advanced stage.

3. Difficulty urinating

Dysuria refers to the difficulty in urinating and difficulty in urinating, which is manifested by slow start of urination, shortened range, weakened jet force, interrupted urine flow, thinner urine stream, continuous dripping, prolonged urination, and even urine retention. Common diseases that cause dysuria include: prostate hyperplasia, prostate cancer, bladder neck fibrosis, urethral stenosis, bladder stones, urethral stones, neurogenic bladder, urinary tract infection, etc.

4. Frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating

Normal adults urinate 4-5 times during the day and 0-1 times at night, with each urine volume of about 200-400ml. Increased urination frequency becomes frequent urination. Urgency refers to a sudden, strong, irresistible desire to urinate; often due to the inability to control urinary incontinence. The characteristic of urinary urgency is that the amount of urine each time is less than normal urination, or even just the urge to urinate without urine discharge. Dysuria refers to the discomfort in the urethra and perineum caused by irritation of the lesion site during urination, mainly stinging or burning pain. Frequent urination, urgency and dysuria usually occur at the same time, indicating the possibility of prostate hyperplasia, bladder stones, and urinary tract infection.
