Cystocele is a manifestation of reproductive injury. The patient's bladder will bulge toward the anterior wall of the vagina, accompanied by dysuria and urinary incontinence. Once the disease occurs, it will cause a great impact. So, what causes cystocele? Causes Cystocele is a condition in which part of the posterior bladder wall and bladder triangle descends into the vagina, usually due to birth trauma. The use of assisted delivery, such as forceps, vacuum extraction, breech traction, etc., causes the cervical bladder fascia and vaginal wall, especially the anterior vaginal wall and the surrounding pubococcygeus muscle to overstretch, thin, relax, or even tear. This cannot be restored during the postpartum period, causing the bottom of the bladder to lose support. If abdominal pressure increases due to coughing or physical labor is performed too early after delivery, the bladder will gradually sag, forming cystocele. Urethral prolapse is caused by the shearing effect of the fetal head on the urethra and the area just below the pubic symphysis during childbirth. Women with larger pubic arches are more likely to experience this condition. Nulliparous women may also experience cystocele or urethrocele, or both at the same time. This is due to congenital deficiencies in the connective tissue or fascia and pelvic floor muscles in the pelvis. |
