What to do if you have a stomachache while running? Be careful to prevent stomachache while running

As the saying goes, life lies in exercise. Running is a form of exercise that many people like because it is not only easy to learn, but also not limited by venue or time. But sometimes some people find that they have stomach pain after running. What is going on? Is there any good way to solve this problem?

1: Why does running give me a stomachache?

1: Lack of exercise. Upper right abdominal pain may be caused by a lack of exercise. If this happens, you can strengthen your daily exercise and avoid abdominal pain due to lack of oxygen. Under normal circumstances, when a person inhales, the negative pressure in the chest cavity increases, which is conducive to the blood return to the hepatic vein. When breathing is rapid, the chest cavity pressure decreases, the blood return to the liver is blocked, resulting in liver congestion and liver pain.

2: Chronic diseases Patients with chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, gastric ulcer or chronic appendicitis may also experience pain when participating in strenuous exercise due to the stimulation of pulling, vibration and other factors on the affected area.

3: Gastroesophageal reflux When running, you will inhale a lot of air, which will cause your stomach to bloat. It is easy to have gastroesophageal reflux, which can cause belching, heartburn or nausea, so you will experience upper abdominal distension and pain.

2: What to do if you have stomach pain while running

1: Drink more water. Patients with diarrhea have severe dehydration and electrolyte disorder due to a large amount of bowel movements. At this time, they must replenish a lot of water. Fluid tonic salts containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride, glucose, and sodium citrate are ideal choices because they can replenish the glucose and minerals lost in the body and regulate potassium, sodium electrolytes, water and acid-base balance; while carrot juice, apple juice, watermelon juice, etc. can not only replenish water, but also replenish essential vitamins, and are also good supplements. They are all good ways to prevent the body from dehydration and exhaustion due to diarrhea.

2: Do not rush to take medicine. Unless the diarrhea is caused by a viral or bacterial infection, or severe diarrhea has complications, ordinary diarrhea does not require medication treatment, and its symptoms generally do not exceed 48 hours. Therefore, do not use medicine to stop diarrhea for at least two days, because diarrhea is the body's way of eliminating toxins. Today, when patients have acute diarrhea, doctors do not encourage the use of antidiarrheals unless there are other urgent conditions that need to be controlled. Otherwise, letting it out may be more beneficial and can also speed up recovery.

3: Check your medications. Sometimes diarrhea can be related to medications you take, such as antacids for heartburn. Antacids are the most common medications that cause diarrhea. To avoid diarrhea associated with heartburn, it is recommended to use antacids that contain only aluminum hydroxide. In addition to antacids, medications such as antibiotics, quinidine, and colchicine (an anti-gout medication) can also cause diarrhea. If you suspect these or other medications are causing your diarrhea, you should consult your doctor.

3. Running on an empty stomach or after a meal.

Eating too much or drinking too much water before exercise, especially eating too much cold drinks, can cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, leading to gastrointestinal spasms and abdominal pain. Eating too fast, eating too much or eating difficult-to-digest food before exercise, excessive gas production, and vigorous exercise are also causes of abdominal pain. Therefore, we should avoid these reasons if we can.
