When talking about thyroid diseases, we have to mention the right lobe thyroid nodule, which exists in many men. So, what tests should be done for the right lobe thyroid nodule?

1. Fine needle aspiration cytology

It is very helpful for nodule treatment. The wide application of this method has greatly reduced unnecessary thyroid surgery, increased the detection rate of malignant tumors during surgery, and reduced the cost of treating thyroid nodules. The accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytology is 70% to 90%, which is related to the experience of puncture and cytology diagnosis.

2.Thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC)

The FNAC results are 90% consistent with the surgical pathology results. There are only 5% false negatives and 5% false positives. Of course, the consistency rate depends on the success rate of the operator, and the difference is large.

3. Neck X-ray

Small or sand-like calcifications on the nodules may be psammoma bodies of papillary carcinoma. Large and irregular calcifications may be seen in degenerative nodular thyroid or thyroid carcinoma. If infiltration or deformation is seen in the tracheal image, it indicates malignant changes.
