Common symptoms include mild redness, dryness and smoothness of the foreskin and glans penis, and white cheese-like patches on the inner foreskin and the coronal sulcus of the glans penis. When the scrotum is affected, a scaly erythematous rash can be seen on the contact surface with the penis, with obvious itching. When the urethra is affected, frequent urination and urgency may occur.

A small number of patients may present with acute edematous balanitis, with obvious edema and itching of the foreskin, small ulcers, and sometimes diabetes. A very small number of men may experience itching and burning sensations on the penis, and flushing of the foreskin and glans within a few hours after having sex with women with candidal vaginitis. This symptom may be caused by the patient's high allergy to Candida albicans.

How to prevent candidal balanitis?

1. Pay attention to hygiene, take a bath and change underwear frequently, and avoid extramarital sex.

2. If one of the spouses suffers from this disease, they should stop having sex or wear a condom during sexual intercourse to avoid cross infection.

3. If you have fungal infection on your feet, such as beriberi, do not scratch your genitals without washing your hands after scratching your feet. You should actively treat the fungal infection on your feet, and be careful not to wash your underwear with your socks.

4. Wash the foreskin with clean water every day. Do not use strong soapy water or potassium permanganate solution.
