Men don’t need to panic if there is semen in their urine!

When men urinate, they find a certain amount of semen in their urine. Is this normal or caused by disease? Normally, the urethra and vas deferens of men share the same "channel", so this is normal. However, some men are always worried about this, fearing that they have some serious disease. Below, the editor will analyze the root cause of this situation in detail.

Normally, urine does not contain semen.

Male urination and ejaculation share the same urethra, but the gates that control urination and ejaculation, the sphincters, are different. During urination, the bladder sphincter located at the neck of the bladder relaxes, the bladder detrusor contracts, and urine is discharged from the body, while the membranous urethral sphincter surrounding the middle section of the male urethra controls ejaculation. When a man is sexually excited, the bladder sphincter located at the beginning of the urethra and the membranous urethral sphincter in the middle section of the urethra are both in a contracted state, forming a closed cavity between the two sphincters. The rhythmic contraction of the smooth muscles of the epididymis and vas deferens drives the sperm and mixes with the secretions of the prostate and seminal vesicles here. When the semen accumulates to a certain amount and the stimulation of the penis reaches a sufficient intensity, that is, when orgasm occurs, ejaculation occurs. At this time, the membranous urethral sphincter relaxes, the bladder sphincter remains contracted, and the accumulated semen will be ejected from the urethra. Therefore, under normal physiological conditions, there will be no leakage of urine during ejaculation, and no leakage of semen during urination.

It is normal for adult men to have semen in their urine.

Young people are more sexually excited. They are easily sexually excited by visual, auditory and other sensory stimulations or local stimulations such as masturbation, and semen accumulates in the urethra between the membranous urethral sphincter and the bladder sphincter. If it is not appropriate or impossible to ejaculate at this time, but the bladder is full and needs to be urinated, the semen originally accumulated there will be discharged from the body with urine. It should be pointed out that this is not a pathological phenomenon. Every male adult will have this situation, so there is no need to worry.
