What causes male genital herpes?

In daily life, some male friends will suffer from genital diseases, which are very embarrassing and uncomfortable once they occur, because once genital diseases occur, it is indeed very embarrassing. After male genital herpes occurs, it will feel very painful and itchy. So how is male genital herpes caused? Let's take a brief look.

What causes genital herpes?

Humans are the only natural host of herpes simplex virus. It is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse. Different types of heterosexual or homosexual intercourse can spread genital herpes, and even wearing condoms cannot prevent it. In a very small number of cases, it can be transmitted indirectly through contaminated objects. The pathogen of genital herpes is herpes simplex virus, which is a type of herpes virus. After primary infection with HSV, it often recurs after a certain period of dormancy. Factors that cause recurrence include fever, menstruation, mental trauma, etc. Food and drugs may also be inducements.

Pathogens of genital herpes:

The pathogen of genital herpes is herpes simplex virus (HSV), also known as human α-herpes virus, which is large in size. The diameter is 150-200nm, and its core is a double-stranded DNA with a diameter of 75nm, surrounded by a protein capsid with a diameter of about 100nm. The capsid is an icosahedron, composed of 162 viral capsids (150 hexagons and 12 pentagons). HSV, which is very characteristic under an electron microscope, is particularly sensitive to fat solvents. 0.5% formaldehyde and 1% carbolic acid can quickly inactivate it. HSV can be killed in a dry environment at 90℃ or a humid and hot environment at 52℃ for half an hour. HSV is a double-stranded DNA virus, which can be divided into type I and type II, and can be identified by methods such as DNA restriction enzymes. Most genital herpes is caused by type II HSV, and 10% to 25% is caused by type I HSV, the latter of which is related to oral infection. HSV-I often causes infections of the mouth, pharynx, nose, eyes and skin, that is, simple herpes. 5% of STD patients have HSV infection. Among college students, HSV infection is 10 times higher than that of gonorrhea and Treponema pallidum. There is no evidence to prove whether simple exposure will cause infection.

There are many causes of male genital herpes, and one of the most important is sexual transmission. If a person does not pay attention to his sexual life, or even promiscuity, it is easy to induce male genital diseases. Therefore, if male genital herpes occurs, it must be actively treated, the causes must be analyzed, and prevention must be taken in daily life.
