What are the symptoms of herpes in men?

After the onset of male herpes, it mainly appears in the male reproductive area, and the most frequent area is the male lower body. This kind of herpes is called genital herpes. This kind of herpes is very harmful to men. It is likely caused by sexual transmission or local infection. Many men still don’t know what these red dots are. So what are the symptoms of male herpes?

HSV-2 infection mainly occurs in the genital area. The affected area first has a burning sensation, and soon groups of small blisters will develop on the basis of erythema, which are often seen on the foreskin, glans penis, and penis of men. Blisters can gradually turn into abscesses, which will rupture in about six days to form erosions or shallow ulcers, and feel pain. Patients may develop urethritis and have difficulty urinating. Most people have enlarged and painful inguinal lymph nodes, and some patients may have fever, muscle pain, and symptoms of meningitis.

Primary infection is mostly latent, most of them have no clinical symptoms or present subclinical manifestations, and only a few can show clinical symptoms. After the primary infection subsides, the virus can continue to reside latently in the body. About half of normal people are carriers of this virus, which can become a source of infection through oral and nasal secretions. Since HSV does not produce permanent immunity in the human body, whenever the body's disease resistance decreases. For example, when suffering from a certain febrile infectious disease, gastrointestinal dysfunction, lesion infection, menstruation, pregnancy, excessive fatigue, and emotional environment changes, the latent HSV in the body will be stimulated and the disease will occur.

The incubation period of HSV infection is 1-45 days, with an average of six days. HSV-1 infection mainly occurs at the junction of skin and mucous membranes such as the corners of the mouth and nostrils, and can also be seen on the face or lips. At first, there is a burning sensation and mild tension, occasionally accompanied by neuralgia. Erythema then appears, and clusters of small papules occur on the basis of the erythema, which quickly turn into millet- to mung bean-sized blisters with clear contents. After the blisters rupture, erosions appear, which dry and scab after a few days. There is spontaneous burning, occasional fatigue, discomfort and mild fever and other systemic symptoms. Temporary pigmentation may remain after healing.

Common sites: Foreskin, glans penis, coronal sulcus, penis, etc. or occasionally at the male urethra. Occasionally, it occurs in the anus and rectum.

The incubation period is 2-10 days, with an average of 6 days. The course of the disease is about 2-3 weeks. It often relapses. The symptoms are milder than the primary disease and the damage is less. There are often no primary symptoms of general discomfort, low fever, headache, and swollen lymph nodes, and the perceived pain is milder than the primary disease.

It occurs in the lower rectal mucosa with congestion, bleeding, and small ulcers.

The skin lesions are round or oval, with irregular edges and puncture-like ulcers. The base is covered with yellow-white lipid-like lining and smears contain Haemophilus influenzae. Inguinal lymph node enlargement may occur within 1-2 weeks.
