What causes itchy glans?

Itching of the glans penis is a symptom of galactitis, but many male friends do not take it seriously and think there is no problem. Some male friends think that this problem is more private, so they are usually unwilling to actively treat it. This will cause great harm to your body and will also affect your sex life. So at least you should understand why your glans penis is itchy, which will also help you to prescribe the right medicine.

What is the cause of the itchy glans?

Experts from the Andrology Hospital said: Itching of the glans is mostly caused by balanitis and prepuce being too long. The source of balanitis is unclean sexual life or the prepuce being too long.

Infectious glansitis is often caused by unclean sexual intercourse, infection with Candida albicans, Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Gonorrhea or other bacteria.

Non-infectious factors are mostly caused by excessive foreskin and insufficient cleaning. The dirty matter between the foreskin and the glans penis, namely smegma, will accumulate and irritate the local foreskin and mucous membrane to cause inflammation.

What is the reason for the red and itchy glans? Common symptoms of balanitis:

Annular ulcerated balanoposthitis: Red spots on the glans and foreskin gradually expand and become ring-shaped, forming superficial ulcers.

Trichomonal balanitis: papules and red spots appear on the glans, gradually enlarging with clear edges. Small needle-sized blisters can be seen on the erythema, and finally an erosive surface is formed.

Candida albicans balanitis: red spots on the foreskin and glans, with a smooth surface and small blisters. The edges of the erythema are clear, and there are erosions and exudates during acute attacks.

Acute superficial balanoposthitis: At the onset, there is local redness, red glans, red and swollen skin of the penis, and a burning and itching sensation in the glans. When the foreskin is turned back, the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans can be seen to be congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding.

The editor suggests that if you want to cure balanitis, you must eliminate the factors that cause balanitis, such as foreskin that is too long, unclean sexual intercourse, etc., and there are many types of balanitis. If you want to completely cure balanitis, you must do an examination before treatment, so that the doctor can give you specific advice.
