The essence of testicular torsion is spermatic cord torsion. Testicular torsion is common in male urological diseases. This phenomenon can occur in newborns and the elderly. The incidence of testicular torsion is higher in men aged 22 to 25. Torsion can lead to testicular necrosis and orchiectomy is required if necessary. Testicular torsion must not be delayed, otherwise it will inevitably lead to loss of testicular function. If testicular torsion is accompanied by bleeding, you should seek medical attention immediately, otherwise severe bleeding may threaten your life. If testicular torsion occurs, the best treatment is surgery. There are two types of surgical methods: surgical reduction and manual reduction. Surgical reduction: After the diagnosis of testicular torsion is made, surgical reduction should be performed as soon as possible, and the surgery should be completed within 6 hours of the onset of symptoms. After the twisted testicle is reduced, observe whether the blood circulation is normal, and then perform intermittent suture fixation of the testicle, spermatic cord and scrotal inner layer of the tunica vaginalis to prevent recurrence after surgery. If the testicular blood circulation is found to be extremely poor during the operation and cannot be restored after reduction, the testicle should be removed. Manual repositioning can generally be tried at the beginning of the disease. Analgesics and antispasmodics should be given first, and the horizontal and lifted testicles should be gently repositioned half an hour later. After successful repositioning, the scrotum is supported by a "T" band to allow the affected testicle to fully rest. However, manual repositioning cannot prevent recurrence. After the operation, you can apply ice to relieve pain and edema. At the same time, you should use a "T" band to support the scrotum for one week to gradually restore normal function. In daily life, many patients are careless about testicular torsion and endure the pain again and again, which delays early treatment. Some people lose their fertility and lead to lifelong misfortune. Therefore, if patients in and around puberty suddenly experience scrotal swelling and pain, especially teenagers, they should consider the possibility of testicular torsion and go to the hospital's urology department for examination and treatment in time. Active manual reduction in the early stage of testicular torsion can achieve good results. The only treatment for patients who have not been reduced in time for a long time is surgery. After the testicular torsion is cured through treatment, it is necessary to actively perform routine semen examinations in order to observe and understand the recovery of the testicles. If the examination finds that the semen is normal, it means that the testicular function has recovered well, otherwise it has not recovered well. |
