Symptoms of urinary tract infection in men

Symptoms of urinary tract infection in men

The urethra of our male friends is relatively long and is relatively less susceptible to infection. The inside of the anus is a gathering place for bacteria, so we must pay attention to cleanliness in our lives and control some bad habits of the body. If the male urethra has symptoms of infection, a series of problems will arise, such as diabetes and prostate problems.

Diabetes Problems

As is known to all, diabetic patients are prone to infection due to a series of metabolic disorders and changes in immune function, and once an infection occurs, it is more difficult to control. It is reported that the incidence of urinary tract infection in diabetic patients is 5 times higher than that of normal people. At the same time, it is found that 20% of diabetic female patients have asymptomatic bacteriuria. Therefore, it is unanimously advocated that diabetic patients should avoid unnecessary urinary tract instrument examinations; if an examination is necessary, blood sugar should be controlled first, and then the examination should be performed, and bacterial growth in the urine should be eliminated as much as possible.

Congenital malformations

There are many congenital malformations in the urinary system, such as horseshoe kidney, ectopic kidney, incomplete renal rotation, stenosis of the renal-ureteral junction, bilateral ureteric and bilateral renal pelvis malformation, ectopic ureteral opening, bladder exstrophy, etc. These lesions can often cause urinary tract obstruction and lead to infection.

Urinary tract instrument examination

Commonly used procedures such as indwelling catheters, cystoscopy, urethral dilatation, and urography (retrograde pyelography, cystourethrography, etc.) can cause bacteria to enter the urinary tract or cause the original infection focus to spread and cause infection due to damage to the mucosa or improper disinfection during operation. This is especially true for urinary retention caused by spinal injuries or paralysis due to cerebrovascular accidents. 100% of patients who are bedridden for a long time and have an indwelling catheter will develop an infection. These cases generally do not die from the primary lesion, but mostly from urinary tract infection. For those who must use an indwelling catheter for a long time, suprapubic cystostomy should be performed instead to drain the urine. Patients who must use transurethral catheterization should use high-quality catheters. Currently, silicone catheters coated with hydrogel are ideal because their biological properties minimize stimulation to body tissues and can reduce the occurrence of infection.

other

The patient's body resistance is reduced, fatigue is excessive, malnutrition, long-term use of hormones and immune deficiency, etc. Another example is urinary stones. In addition to the stones themselves causing urinary tract obstruction, there are also bacteria that decompose urea, making urine alkaline, promoting the deposition of magnesium, ammonium, phosphates, etc. to form stones. Bacteria can also deposit as central and peripheral crystals to form infectious stones, and bacteria can often be cultured in the center of the stone. There are also chronic potassium deficiency nephritis, hyperuricemia, calcium ion metabolism disorders, etc., which are all factors that induce infection.

Abnormal urination

Common urination abnormalities of urinary tract infection are frequent urination, urgent urination, and painful urination. Urinary incontinence and urinary retention may also be seen. Chronic renal failure caused by chronic pyelonephritis may have polyuria in the early stage, and oliguria or anuria in the later stage.

Abnormal urine

Urinary tract infection can cause abnormal changes in urine, common ones include bacteriuria, purulent urine, hematuria and pneumaturia.

Low back pain

Low back pain is a common clinical symptom. Kidney and perirenal diseases are one of the common causes of low back pain. When the renal capsule, renal pelvis, and ureter are irritated or tension increases, it can cause low back pain. Lower urinary tract infection generally does not cause low back pain. Inflammation of the kidney and perirenal areas, such as renal abscess, perirenal inflammation, perirenal abscess, and acute pyelonephritis, often cause persistent and severe bloating and pain in the waist. Low back pain caused by chronic pyelonephritis is often soreness.

If male friends realize that urinary tract infection should be treated in time, long-term infection will cause problems with our immunity, and long-term persistent symptoms will make our body unable to bear it. Low back pain is the main symptom of kidney disease. Persistent pain should attract our attention. Timely treatment of the disease is very important for health care.
