Why does men's urine split?

Why does men's urine split?

To be honest, I never knew there was such a thing. Putting aside the medical point of view, from my personal point of view, I think split urine is not a big deal. However, after searching the Internet, I vaguely learned some new knowledge that I had never known before. It turns out that split urine in men may be caused by the prostate:

In medicine, the causes of urine bifurcation are generally classified into two categories: occasional or temporary urine bifurcation (physiological urine bifurcation) and frequent or long-term urine bifurcation (pathological urine bifurcation).

1. It is sporadic or temporary, and it is mostly unrelated to disease. It is mainly due to temporary obstruction of the anterior urethra or urethral opening. For example, because urine accumulates in the bladder overnight, the pressure in the bladder is high, and the urine is discharged with great force, which temporarily changes the shape of the urethral opening. Another reason is that after a man ejaculates, some semen still remains in the urethra, and the congestion of the corpus cavernosum has not completely disappeared, resulting in poor urine flow. These situations are temporary changes in urination, not pathological, and there is no need to worry.

2. Frequent or long-term bifurcated urination may be related to some diseases. Long-term bifurcated urination is mostly due to the narrowness of the posterior urethra or urethral orifice, or scar formation after chronic inflammation, which prevents urine from being discharged smoothly. If you seek medical advice from a urologist during acute urethritis or prostatitis, and the bifurcation only occurs when the flow rate is small, you only need to pay attention to whether there is frequent urination. Under normal circumstances, during the day, due to urethral congestion, swelling, and increased secretions, the smooth flow of urine may be affected and bifurcated. However, for some bifurcated urine accompanied by other symptoms, you should be vigilant. Bifurcated urine stream may also be caused by pathological reasons. When prostatitis occurs, especially when the middle lobe of the prostate is hyperplastic, the middle part of the urethra is lifted up, which can cause bifurcated urine stream during urination.

Because I am unmarried, I may find it a bit embarrassing to say these things. However, I still want everyone to be healthy. Whether it is someone I know or not, I have a heart that wishes everything to be good. But wishes are still wishes after all, so everyone should accumulate more theoretical knowledge.
