How to see sperm liquefaction

How to see sperm liquefaction

Sperm is an important foundation for the formation of fertilized eggs. Many people do not know that male sperm is in liquid state at the moment of ejaculation, but once it leaves the body, it will immediately coagulate and will gradually begin to dissolve and liquefy after leaving the body for more than ten minutes. Sperm liquefaction is a normal physiological phenomenon. If sperm does not liquefy for a long time after leaving the body, it is a pathological state, mainly due to protease.

How to tell sperm liquefaction

Normal semen is in a liquefied state when it is ejaculated, but it immediately solidifies into a jelly or clot state, and then liquefies into a watery liquid after about 10 to 20 minutes. This process is called semen liquefaction and is a normal physiological phenomenon.

If semen remains frozen for more than 30 minutes after being discharged from the body, it is a pathological condition known as semen liquefaction.

The reason why semen does not liquefy is that the secretion of proteolytic enzymes is insufficient or damaged, resulting in an imbalance of the enzyme system, which makes the semen of some patients not liquefy even after being placed for 1 hour, or the liquefaction is incomplete and the viscosity is too high. In this case, sperm cannot migrate, which naturally causes infertility.

Prostatic fluid mainly contains high concentrations of zinc ions, acid phosphatase, protease, fibrosis, spermine, aliphatic peptides, etc. Among them, protease and fibrosis have the effect of promoting semen liquefaction. If the prostate is inflamed, the effect of liquefying semen will be weakened or even lost.

What to do if semen does not liquefy

If semen does not liquefy and it is suspected to be related to prostatitis, it is recommended to go to the andrology or urology department of a regular hospital for relevant examinations.

Under normal circumstances, after a man ejaculates, the semen is in a liquefied state and will gel in a very short time. It takes about 10 to 30 minutes for the semen to liquefy into a water-like liquid. However, if it is still in a state of focus after more than 30 minutes, it is a pathological condition, which is called semen liquefaction. The cause of semen liquefaction may be caused by pathogenic microbial infection, or the presence of various acidic and alkaline chemicals in the urine, which leads to chronic prostatitis, or it may be due to the patient's excessive anxiety and tension, resulting in physical diseases.

Under normal circumstances, semen will liquefy after a certain period of time, but some abnormal semen will not liquefy. This phenomenon has a great impact on fertility, so it needs to be treated in time. Patients with this symptom should also pay more attention to diet and develop good living habits.
