Itching of the coronal sulcus

Itching of the coronal sulcus

Itching of the coronal sulcus is a manifestation of male glansitis. If men cannot keep their private parts clean and hygienic, it is very likely to cause glansitis. There are many causes of glansitis, such as acute superficial balanitis, candidal balanitis, and trichomonal balanitis. Each of these has different clinical manifestations, but they all cause itching in the coronal sulcus. Patients also need to find their own cause before treatment.

Cause 1: Acute superficial balanoposthitis: At the onset, local flushing, redness and swelling of the penis skin, and burning and itching sensations in the glans. When the foreskin is turned back, the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans can be seen to be congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding. After secondary infection, small ulcers can be seen, with foul-smelling milky white purulent secretions. If it rubs against underwear, it will be painful, and the patient often has difficulty in moving. It may be accompanied by enlargement and tenderness of the inguinal lymph nodes.

Reason 2: Candida albicans balanitis: Red spots can be seen on the foreskin and glans, with a smooth surface and small blisters. The edges of the red spots are clear, and there is erosion and exudation during acute attacks. In this case, there will also be white secretions in the coronal sulcus of the glans.

Reason three: Trichomonas balanoposthitis: papules and erythema appear on the glans, gradually expanding with clear edges, small blisters the size of a needle can be seen on the erythema, and finally an erosive surface is formed. Or annular erosive balanoposthitis: erythema can be seen on the glans and foreskin, gradually expanding in a ring shape, and can form a superficial ulcerative surface.

The reason why men have itching in the glans coronal sulcus is actually related to glansitis. Personal hygiene should be maintained at ordinary times. This inflammation may be infectious or non-infectious. Men should avoid unclean sexual intercourse. Foreskin that is too long should be cleaned properly to avoid accumulation, which may cause local irritation and mucosal inflammation.
