What causes scrotal abscess? There are seven main causes

Men seem to pay little attention to their scrotum and testicles in life. Even after marriage, they do not take care of their scrotum and still maintain bad sexual habits. As a result, scrotum problems are prone to occur in the end. For example, scrotal abscess is very common in clinical practice. So, what are the causes of scrotal abscess?

1. Testicular torsion:

This is one of the common causes. When the testicles twist, there will be painful lumps around one or both testicles. The onset time is arbitrary and may be accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

2. Orchitis:

When the testicles become inflamed, one or both testicles will often swell. If diagnosed by a hospital, the doctor will prescribe painkillers to relieve the pain and take corresponding anti-inflammatory measures. It is best to avoid taking medication blindly.

3. Cyst:

Cysts can occur in the scrotum and can generally grow very large without causing any discomfort. However, it is best to go to the hospital to check whether it is a tumor. Cysts can occur in men of any age, but are more common in men over 40 years old.

4. Internal testicular injury:

Injury to the inside of the testicles may also cause testicular swelling. In this case, it is best to be hospitalized for surgical treatment.

5. Scrotal cyst:

Swelling can also occur when pathological fluid accumulates between the testicle's inner and outer coverings. If the swelling is large or painful, the fluid may need to be removed with a needle under local anesthesia.

6. Epididymal tuberculosis:

Also known as tuberculous epididymitis, it is the most common type of male genital tuberculosis. Epididymal tuberculosis is also one of the causes of testicular cysts.

7. Epididymitis:

The epididymis is located at the posterior edge of the testicle and is where sperm is temporarily stored after production. Epididymitis is generally caused by long-term, recurrent urinary tract infections.
