Circumcision

Circumcision

The foreskin is an important part that protects the male glans. There are many grooves on the foreskin, so it is also an area where bacteria easily accumulate. Especially for men with long foreskin, it is very easy to get infected with bacteria and cause diseases such as balanitis and glansitis. So when the foreskin is too long, you should go to the hospital for a circumcision. In the process of circumcision, what is the specific operation process?

The specific process of circumcision is as follows: first, the foreskin is lifted up, and then the foreskin is cut from the back of the penis, 0.5 cm away from the coronal sulcus on the back, and 1 cm away from the coronal sulcus at the frenulum. Then the excess foreskin is cut off, and the bleeding needs to be stopped carefully. Then, the inner and outer plates are sutured together again with five 0 absorbable sutures. During the circumcision, it is necessary to pay attention to leaving enough distance at the frenulum to prevent pain during erection. In addition, the bleeding should be stopped carefully to avoid hematoma.

Things to note when doing circumcision surgery:

1. Generally, the affected area should be cleaned before circumcision. Patients with excessive foreskin should turn back the foreskin and clean the glans to reduce the chance of infection after surgery. Patients with phimosis cannot be cleaned, so doctors need to clean it carefully before surgery;

2. Ensure rest after surgery and avoid strenuous exercise;

3. Because of postoperative edema, there may be some pain in the circumcision area. If the patient feels uncomfortable, he or she can take some painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs;

4. Pay attention to hygiene and do not let the penis erect frequently. Penile erection will increase the chance of pain and sometimes tear the sutures, so do not watch stimulating programs at home; it is best for the couple to sleep in separate beds and not together to avoid pain or congestion caused by penis erection, which will affect the healing of the wound;

5. The foreskin wound will usually heal in about 7 days, but for some people it may take more than 10 days, and the edema period usually lasts for about a month;

6. Generally, you cannot have sexual intercourse within one month after circumcision. 7. Patients with some special diseases are not suitable for circumcision. For example, patients with coagulation dysfunction, foreskin inflammation or pustules and other serious local infections can only undergo surgery after they are cured.
