What is the disease of a small lump on the penis?

No matter what time it is, men and women are the same, they should protect their private parts, especially women, because the structure of the private parts is more complex, so it is easier to suffer from some gynecological diseases. Some male friends found that there was a small bag on their penis, which was particularly obvious, and they began to worry whether they had some disease. So, what disease is there on the penis?

Subcutaneous lipoma is also known as superficial lipoma. It is a benign soft tissue tumor composed of mature adipose tissue and occurs superficially (subcutaneously). It is the most common mesenchymal tumor to date. Under normal circumstances, it can occur in any part of the body with fat, most commonly in the back, neck, shoulders, abdomen, breasts and proximal limbs, and rarely in the face, hands, feet and calves. It is more common in adults, especially in the age group of 30 to 50 years old, and is rare in patients under 20 years old. Subcutaneous lipoma can be single or multiple, and the main manifestation is local protrusion of the tumor, soft texture, no redness or swelling, no tenderness, and a certain degree of mobility.

Clinical manifestations

Usually present as subcutaneous, single or multiple, varying sizes, slow-growing, flat, round, or lobed masses. Single lipomas are larger, often found on the abdominal wall, chest wall, waist, back, shoulders, and neck, and are hammer-shaped or elliptical, with the long axis mostly parallel to the skin. Multiple lipomas are smaller, mostly symmetrical, slightly hard, and may be painful.

Lipomas themselves generally have no conscious symptoms. Larger tumors may hinder local movements or cause pain due to nerve compression.

Lipoma can be a part of Gardner syndrome. In addition to lipoma, patients also have multiple facial osteomas, epidermoid cysts, multiple colon polyps, fibroma, etc. Multiple lipomas should also consider the possibility of lipomatosis. The number of tumors can range from a few to hundreds, mainly occurring in the upper body. Some patients have hyperlipidemia, and about 1/3 have a genetic predisposition.

During palpation, a soft and elastic swelling can be felt. It is not tender, has clear boundaries, has a false sense of fluctuation, has a certain degree of mobility when pushed, and there is usually no obvious abnormality on the surface of the skin.

treatment

The only effective treatment is surgical excision. Small lipomas without clinical symptoms generally do not require treatment. Larger solitary lipomas require surgical excision. The tumor should be completely removed during surgery.
