Do men have menopause?

When men reach menopause, they must pay attention to relevant matters. First of all, men must eat less sweets during menopause. If they often eat sweets, it will easily cause diabetes, which will cause greater risks. In addition, they must supplement enough protein through diet, so they can eat more eggs and milk, etc., and they can also eat more foods rich in vitamins and calcium. In the eyes of many people, men do not have menopause. In fact, this idea is wrong. Men and women will have menopause.

Do men have menopause?

When men reach the age of 45-55, various organs in the body also age, and the testicles are no exception. After the age of 40, the weight of men's testicles gradually decreases, and they begin to shrink at the age of 50. Both the ability to produce sperm and the ability to secrete male hormones such as testosterone are weakened. There are also certain changes in pituitary gonadotropin, and the male hormone secreted by the adrenal cortex is also reduced. Men at this age stage often have some symptoms of varying severity, but not as rapid as women's ovarian aging and estrogen reduction. Although the function of men's reproductive organs, the testicles, has a gradual decline, it does not completely lose its function. This is the fundamental difference from women. Men who enter old age from middle age do not have the obvious signs of no longer ovulating, menopausal and loss of fertility, as women do, and the obvious symptoms of autonomic nervous system dysfunction that accompany them.

Because testicular aging and testosterone secretion decrease are slow, many men can adapt to this slow process, so generally no symptoms or reactions occur. However, there are also a considerable number of men who cannot adapt to this change and will also experience some symptoms. Since these symptoms are also caused by testicular atrophy, decreased function, and decreased sex hormone secretion, they are the same as female menopause, so they can also be called male menopause. Because male gonadal function declines slowly, male menopausal symptoms also appear later, generally occurring between the ages of 55 and 65, about 10 years later than females.

We often hear people ask female friends: Is menopause coming? People don't think it's strange to hear this. But do you know? Men also have menopause, and it lasts for a long time. Let's learn how long men's menopause usually lasts and what men need to pay attention to when they reach menopause.

How long does menopause usually last?

Male menopause usually begins between the ages of 40 and 55. Some people may experience it as early as their 30s, while others may not experience symptoms until their 60s. If andropause occurs, the general process may last from 5 to 15 years.
