What is the cause of male urethral discharge?

Men must be careful when they have urethral discharge. The most common disease is urethritis. Men with urethritis will experience abnormal urination. Frequent urination, urgency, pain, and urethral itching are all typical manifestations. Timely treatment is required to prevent diseases such as prostatitis.

1. Symptoms of male urethritis

1. Abnormal urination: Many men will experience symptoms such as urinary pain, urgency, frequent urination, and turbid urine after suffering from urethritis. The frequency of urination will also increase. When urinating, they will feel a burning and pain in the urethra. Sometimes the pain symptoms will radiate to the lower abdomen or the urethra. Some patients have turbid urine and sometimes have hematuria.

2. Urethra secretions: After a man has urethritis, the patient will have urethra secretions. In the early stage of the disease, the secretions are less, thin, and mucous or mucopurulent. If you do not urinate for a long time, a small amount of thin secretions will overflow from the urethra. Sometimes it only manifests as a scab blocking the urethra or contaminating the underwear in the morning.

3. Urethral itching: After a man gets urethritis, he will have urethral secretions, which will cause urethral itching in the long run. In chronic urethritis, urethral secretions are reduced, and there is only itching or ant sensation. The urination irritation symptoms are not as obvious as those in the acute phase. Some patients will not experience these symptoms.

2. Causes of male urethritis

(1) Inflammation of the urethra’s adjacent areas, such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, etc., can spread to the urethra and cause urethritis.

(2) External factors, such as frequent masturbation, excessive sexual intercourse, smoking and drinking, wearing tight underwear, and riding a bicycle for a long time, can all cause pressure and damage to the urethra, leading to local congestion, ischemia, and hypoxia, which reduces the resistance of the urethral mucosa and makes it very susceptible to infection.

(3) Invasion of some microorganisms, such as: men have unclean lifestyles, or their wives suffer from gynecological diseases. During sexual intercourse, some bacteria are transmitted, which may lead to urethritis.

(4) Urine is highly irritating and corrosive, which is very harmful to the health of the urethra. Therefore, men should drink more water and urinate more often, which is good for the health of the urethra.
