If the blood vessels in the eye are blocked, the eye may also suffer a stroke! How to prevent eye stroke?

If the blood vessels in the eye are blocked, the eye may also suffer a stroke! How to prevent eye stroke?

The characteristic of this disease is the sudden loss of vision, which is mainly caused by ischemia of the eye, similar to the transient blackout during transient cerebral ischemia and the blindness during cerebral infarction when the ocular artery is affected. So how can we prevent the blockage of ocular blood vessels?

1. Actively treat the underlying disease and control blood pressure to the target level

Like cerebral stroke, "eye stroke" is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. Hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and other diseases are important underlying diseases. The cause is vascular sclerosis caused by high blood pressure. Controlling blood pressure to meet the standard can reduce or delay vascular sclerosis. Middle-aged and elderly people should actively treat and control systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, pay attention to the balance of diet structure, quit smoking and limit alcohol, reduce salt intake, eat less greasy food, eat more celery, fungus and other foods, and often drink natural blood pressure-lowering and blood vessel-drying teas such as Miaoyukang Luobu Ma Tea.

2. Keep a calm mind, regulate your emotions, and maintain an optimistic mood

Anger, rage, and emotional agitation are important causes of high blood pressure. Therefore, controlling emotions and keeping a good mood can play a good role in lowering blood pressure, which is sometimes even more important than taking medicine.

3. Follow your doctor’s instructions and lower your blood pressure steadily

Improper use of antihypertensive drugs can also cause "eye stroke". Data show that 3/4 of "eye stroke" is caused by low blood pressure at night, which is related to taking antihypertensive drugs before going to bed or taking too much antihypertensive drugs. Therefore, patients with high blood pressure should take medication according to the doctor's instructions, do not lower blood pressure too low all at once, and try not to take antihypertensive drugs before going to bed at night.

4. Exercise moderately and ensure adequate sleep

Middle-aged and elderly people should strengthen their exercise to maintain the normal functioning of various body functions. Hypertensive patients have poor blood circulation. Sitting still and doing little movement will further slow down blood flow and form blood clots, resulting in vascular occlusive diseases. Hypertensive patients should exercise at a moderate time and intensity, and should not do strenuous exercise. They should pay attention to rest, avoid overwork, and get enough sleep. They should keep warm in winter and when there is a big change in temperature during the season change.

5. Regular inspection and early intervention

More than 90% of patients with hypertension have varying degrees of arteriosclerosis, and the retinal blood vessels are the only blood vessels in the body that can be directly seen. Middle-aged and elderly people, especially those with chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, should have their fundus checked regularly to detect early lesions of the central retinal artery, take intervention measures early, reduce and delay the lesions, and avoid "eye stroke".

6. Early detection and timely treatment

If you suddenly experience black fog or waves in front of your eyes, blurred vision, etc. in your daily life, you should be alert that it may be a precursor to "eye stroke" and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to prevent delays in the disease. If conditions permit, you should take nitroglycerin as soon as possible and gently massage the surface of the eyeball with your index finger, which may clear the blood vessel clots and buy time for the hospital to rescue.
