Precautions for male catheterization:

1. Strictly implement aseptic techniques and disinfection systems to prevent nosocomial infection. Once the catheter is contaminated or removed, it must not be used again.

2. When inserting or removing the catheter, the movements should be gentle, slow, and steady. Do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the urethral mucosa.

3. For patients with highly distended bladders and extreme weakness, the first catheterization volume should not exceed 1000ml to prevent large amounts of urination, which may lead to a sudden decrease in intra-abdominal pressure and a large amount of blood retained in the abdominal blood vessels, causing a drop in blood pressure and prolapse. It may also cause a sudden decompression of the bladder, leading to rapid congestion of the bladder mucosa and causing hematuria.
