What causes prostatitis? Be careful of these 4 reasons

The factors that induce prostatitis can be divided into three main factors: infectious factors, chemical factors, and immune factors. Of course, there are also some other related factors that can lead to the occurrence of the disease. Therefore, when you are sick, you must find the cause and prescribe the right medicine.

Infectious factors

The pathogenic microorganisms in bacterial prostatitis are similar to those that cause urogenital tract infections. The most common pathogens are Escherichia coli (E. coli), and a few are Proteus, Klebsiella, Enterococcus, etc.; Gram-positive bacteria rarely cause infection, and absolute anaerobic bacteria rarely cause prostate infection. The role of Gram-positive bacteria in etiology is still controversial. Most researchers agree that Enterococci cause chronic prostatitis, but other Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Bacillus, and Diphtheroids play a pathogenic role in prostatitis.

Chemical factors

The cause and pathogen of nonbacterial prostatitis are still unclear. The pathogen may be an unidentified microorganism. Clinical studies in recent years have found that Chlamydia and Mycoplasma may be the main pathogens of chronic prostatitis, or it may be a non-infectious disease. Some people speculate that it may be "chemical" prostatitis caused by urine reflux into the prostate.

Immune factors

Immunological research on prostatitis can be traced back to the initial study of immunoglobulins in prostatic fluid, the discovery of antibody-coated bacteria, and the existence of anti-prostate antibodies. Recently, animal models have been successfully used to simulate prostatitis as an autoimmune reaction process. It is encouraging that studies have found that bacterial products provide the initial antigenic stimulation in the course of prostatitis, triggering subsequent immune response processes.

Other related factors

Previous studies have found that sex hormone nutrition, past history of urinary tract infection, tension, mental factors, allergies and sexual life are all potential factors causing prostatitis. Among the studies on the following related factors, there are more studies in Europe and the United States, while there is still a lack of systematic research in China.
