Can saliva transmit AIDS?

1. Transmission routes of AIDS

There are three ways of transmission of AIDS. They are blood transmission, sexual transmission and mother-to-child transmission. In my country, HIV infection is divided into acute stage, asymptomatic stage and AIDS stage.

From the above transmission routes, we can understand that AIDS cannot be transmitted through saliva. Unless the carrier has oral bleeding and you also have oral bleeding, and then eat the same meal, there is a chance of infection.

2. Three phases of AIDS

1. Acute phase

It usually occurs about 2-4 weeks after the initial infection with HIV. The main clinical manifestations are fever, sore throat, sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, joint pain, lymphadenopathy and nervous system symptoms. Most patients have mild clinical symptoms, which last for 1-3 weeks before being relieved.

(ii) Asymptomatic period

This stage can be entered from the acute stage, or directly without obvious acute stage symptoms. This stage generally lasts for 6-8 years. However, there are also cases where the disease progresses rapidly and where it does not progress for a long time. The length of this stage is related to many factors, such as the amount and type of the infected virus, the route of infection, and the body's immune status.

(III) AIDS stage

This is the final stage of HIV infection. The patient's lymphocyte count decreases significantly, and the HIV plasma viral load increases significantly. The main clinical manifestations of this stage are HIV-related symptoms, various opportunistic infections, and tumors.
