There are many causes of testicular pain, but the main ones are testicular torsion, testicular injury, orchitis, and testicular ischemia pain. 1. Testicular torsion. Testicular torsion is one of the common dangers in the scrotum. Generally, there is strong activity a few hours before the onset of the disease, or the male testicles are subjected to external force. Severe testicular pain suddenly occurs in males during sleep quality or quiet time. It is the first symptom of this disease and one of the key diagnostic evidences. Some patients are accompanied by nausea, dry mouth, testicular swelling, and significant tenderness. 2. Testicular injury. Male testicles are very active in the scrotum and are protected by a strong white membrane, so they are less likely to suffer traumatic injuries. Testicular injuries are mostly related to violence, car accidents, etc. After injury, male testicles experience severe pain accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and even fainting or shock. Routine physical examinations show enlarged testicles, unclear contours, or scrotal hemorrhage, with significant tenderness. Male testicular ischemic pain is common in the elderly. The pain is more severe, aggravated during activity, and relieved during rest. The semen smear is normal. It is often caused by sclerosis of the male testicular artery, resulting in aortic stenosis. Atherosclerosis of the male testicular aorta is usually a partial manifestation of systemic vascular disease, and is more common on one side, more common on the left than on the right. 4. Orchitis. The male testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side. The male testicles metabolize androgen, which plays a key role in the growth, development and improvement of the male reproductive organs and the appearance of male secondary sexual characteristics. There are many causes of orchitis. For example, patients with influenza and mumps may have orchitis, testicular pain and swelling; gonorrhea is the most common reproductive tract infection at this stage, and it can cause orchitis when it is more serious; chronic prostatitis can also cause testicular pain, which is mainly manifested as unilateral pain, often dull pain or extension pain, which is persistent.
