Do men have higher body temperatures than women?

Body temperature is a key indicator of physical health and is a term that everyone is very familiar with. Under normal circumstances, the body temperature of a person is between 36 degrees Celsius and 37.5 degrees Celsius. Temperatures lower or higher than this are considered abnormal. However, many people are very concerned about whether men's body temperature is higher than women's.

Generally speaking, men's body temperature is slightly lower than women's, which is affected by the body's growth hormones, nerves, and body fat percentage. The reasons include:

1. Nervous level: The "controller" in women's skin is more sensitive than that in men's. Women have the important task of reproducing offspring. During pregnancy, the fetus in the uterus needs a temperature-controlled natural environment, and the uterus is inside the body, so the female body needs to be more closely protected. To achieve this overall goal, the "controller" in women's skin must be more sensitive.

2. Growth hormone level: Women's ovaries produce progesterone, which metabolizes progesterone and causes the body temperature to rise. The specific immune nerve center is extremely sensitive to the effect of progesterone (also known as progesterone growth hormone). A certain amount of progesterone (12,8nmol/L) can cause the body temperature to rise. Men have no effect in these aspects.

3. Women have higher body fat than men. This is also a reason. As the saying goes, women are made of water. However, according to scientific research, both men and women have sufficient body water, and what is special is that women have a higher body fat rate than men. Many people speculate that the combustion and deposition of body fat are related to skin sensor technology, which makes women's body temperature slightly higher.

4. Rational mental state. When a person is excited, angry, or in an extreme state of mind, he or she will often feel hot all over, and in more serious cases, even feel a burning sensation on the skin. In fact, this is usually caused by a change in mental state. Women are more rational, react strongly to things, and have a richer spiritual world, so their mental state often changes, causing a high body temperature.
