Circumcision process

Circumcision process

Since ancient times, genitals have been something that people are embarrassed about. Even in this relatively open-minded era, men cannot face problems with their genitals. Genitals are relatively fragile and can easily encounter some problems, such as foreskin being too long. At this time, you can only shamelessly go to the hospital for treatment and let the doctor "do something" on your vitals. Surgery to treat foreskin being too long is a relatively common method. The specific circumcision process is as follows.

Circumcision is a common outpatient surgery, but it is really "scared" for men to really make up their minds to go under the knife. They have a lot of questions, but are too embarrassed to ask doctors and nurses for clarification. The following is a general description of the surgery and the key points of care:

1. The operation takes about 20 to 30 minutes and does not require hospitalization.

2. There will be slight pain and bruising at the wound after the operation. You should take painkillers regularly and it will heal in about 7 to 10 days.

3. Before the wound heals, you should return for regular follow-up examinations.

4. The wound should be kept clean and dry after the operation, and be careful not to wet the gauze when urinating.

5. The wound is sutured with absorbable sutures, so there is no need to remove the sutures.

6. If the penis is erect, please protect the wound with one hand and pinch the glans with the other hand to allow the penis to retract naturally to avoid the wound from splitting.

7. If the wound is swollen, painful and bleeding, you can apply local cold compress and pressure to stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, you should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

8. Prepare a few extra pairs of underwear for replacement (or buy wash-free underwear), because tissue fluid may seep out and dirty the underwear during the recovery period.

9. It is best to avoid sexual thoughts during the recovery period, otherwise the natural physiological reaction will make you suffer. Patients can resume their sexual life one month after the operation.

10. Carefully choose a qualified doctor to perform the surgery, because the doctor's skills will affect the postoperative appearance and recovery process.

It is worth mentioning that although the foreskin is not very harmful to health, it may sometimes cause incarcerated foreskin due to the narrow foreskin opening, which means that the foreskin is tightly tied to the coronal sulcus of the penis and cannot be pushed down. In this case, manual repositioning should be performed as soon as possible. If manual repositioning is not possible, the tightly tied foreskin opening should be cut open and circumcision should be performed.

Circumcision is a treatment method. Generally, children aged 8 to 9 can be treated as soon as possible after local anesthesia. Newborn babies can consider undergoing this surgery to avoid future troubles. Circumcision is an outpatient surgery and generally does not require hospitalization. Rest for 1 to 2 days after the surgery. No stitches or sutures are required.

What are the dangers of foreskin being too long?

The foreskin secretes dirt, causing a foul odor

The oil glands on the male foreskin and glans will secrete smegma, which, when mixed with sweat, will produce an unpleasant odor. If the circumcision is performed, this layer of foul-smelling smegma will have no way to accumulate.

Long-term closure of the glans penis, low sensitivity

Generally speaking, the most sensitive part of a man's sexual stimulation is the glans penis. If the foreskin covers the glans penis for a long time, it will reduce the sensitivity to external stimulation.

Sexual contact zones are hindered

Although the foreskin will naturally retract during sex, it will still hinder the contact between the glans penis and the vagina to some extent. Therefore, removing this barrier can expose the glans penis and directly contact the vagina, and the sexual stimulation will be much stronger.
