Normal sperm liquefaction time

Normal sperm liquefaction time

Sperm liquefaction time refers to the time it takes for sperm to melt. This time is calculated based on the sperm concentration. If the sperm concentration is higher, the liquefaction time will also increase. Normally, the amount of semen in men is about 4ml, so the liquefaction time takes half an hour. Moreover, the better the male's sexual function, the higher the sperm concentration and the stronger the fertility, so men need to improve the quality of their sperm.

There are generally 11 routine tests for semen, and its normal values are in the following ranges:

1. Semen volume. The normal semen volume should be between 2-6 ml.

2. Appearance of semen. Normal semen is grayish white or grayish yellow when it is just ejaculated, and becomes milky white or milky yellow after liquefaction.

3. The smell of semen. Normal semen has a special fishy smell, much like the smell of chestnut flowers.

4. Semen liquefaction time. Normal semen liquefaction time should be 30 minutes. If it exceeds 30 minutes, the semen will not liquefy or will not liquefy completely.

5. Semen viscosity. After liquefaction, semen becomes a viscous liquid. Use a straw to stick the semen on it and let it drip down naturally. If it drips down drop by drop, then the viscosity is normal.

6. Semen pH. The normal semen pH is 7.2-8.0. Any pH less than 7.2 or greater than 8.0 is abnormal.

7. Sperm count: The normal sperm count for fertility is 20 million/ml.

8. Semen motility: Normal sperm motility is ≥ 60%.

9. Sperm motility. Sperm motility is usually divided into five levels: A, sperm moves forward quickly in a straight line. B, sperm moves forward slowly. C, no directional movement. D, sperm moves in place. E, sperm does not move. Normal sperm motility should be, within 60 minutes of ejaculation, A+B≥50%, or A≥25%.

10. Sperm morphology: Normal sperm >50%, abnormal sperm no more than 40%.

11. The number of white blood cells in semen. The number of white blood cells in normal semen is <1×106/ml, that is, the number of white blood cells per high-power field of view should be less than 10.

How to judge whether semen is normal

A man's semen directly determines his offspring. Here we will teach you how to judge whether the semen is normal.

1. Check the amount of semen. If the amount of semen is too little or too much, it is not a good phenomenon. When the semen is within the range of 2-6ml, it is the healthiest.

2. Look at the color of semen. Normal semen is generally grayish white or milky yellow. If it is milky white or yellow-green, it may be the reproductive tract or accessory glands. Pink or red is more dangerous and may be tuberculosis or tumor.

3. In addition to the above methods, measuring the pH, viscosity, number of sperm, sperm survival rate, etc. of semen are all important means to effectively judge whether semen is normal.

Normal color of semen

Normal semen should be jelly-like when it is just ejaculated, and its color should be grayish white or grayish yellow. When the semen liquefies, it will appear translucent milky white or milky yellow. These colors are all normal semen colors.

If you don't ejaculate for a long time, you will discharge darker semen, which will recover on its own after resuming normal sexual life. The semen color of the elderly is generally dark yellow.

If you find that the semen has other colors, it is very likely that there is a disease, most likely prostatitis or urinary tract infection, etc.
