Male friends are very strict about their weight, because only when their weight is maintained at the standard weight can they look more beautiful and be healthier in all aspects of their body. However, many people are not very good at controlling their weight, and their weight always fluctuates. In fact, if you want to control your weight, you must start with diet and behavior and make a change plan.

Weight management programs can use four types of treatments: dietary and nutritional counseling, behavioral therapy, medications, and surgery. Diet is now rarely a traditional dietary therapy; instead, it emphasizes changing long-term habits. Most programs teach clients how to eat in a safe, sensible, and gradual manner.

Changes include increasing the intake of complex carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables, breads, cereals, pasta) and decreasing the intake of fat and simple carbohydrates. Very low-energy diets providing 400 to 800 kcal per day are becoming less popular because it is clear that patients can quickly regain their weight.

Being underweight for a long time can lead to hair loss, anorexia, infertility, ulcers, dizziness, irregular menstruation, and osteoporosis in old age. It also affects thinking and reasoning ability. Doctors will recommend that we run more and learn to control our food intake. In today's society, "obesity" is a common phenomenon. But for people at the other extreme, being too thin is also a risk.

Since a person's weight is related to many factors, there are differences between different people, and there will be certain changes at different times of the day. In addition, the geographical location (such as the reason of gravity), season, climate, and personal conditions also have a certain impact on weight, so it is difficult to completely meet the standard weight. In other words, it is difficult to express it with a constant value, but should be a numerical range. We call this numerical range the normal value, which is generally within the range of ±10% of the standard weight. Exceeding this range can be called abnormal weight.

Nowadays, people use the BMI index to calculate whether their weight is normal. The BMI index is the weight index, which is the number obtained by dividing the weight in kilograms by the square of the height in meters. When the BMI is less than 18.5, it means that you are underweight. A BMI index of 18.5 to 23.9 is normal.
