Why do I always have an erection when I wake up?

It is normal for men to have an erection after waking up in the morning, especially for people in their twenties and thirties, as they are in their prime years, so it is normal for these physiological phenomena to occur. In addition, men should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, exercise and walk regularly, avoid pornographic pictures, and do not masturbate. This is very good for their health, otherwise it will hurt them.

According to research, men have more morning erections when they are 20 to 30 years old, and gradually decrease after middle age. Erections occur not only in the morning, but also during sleep. Generally, there are three to five erections every night, and each erection lasts an average of fifteen minutes, but can last up to an hour.

The exact mechanism of penile erection in the morning or during sleep has not been studied clearly, but it is certain that penile erection in the morning is a normal physiological reaction of men. Due to individual differences among men, the changes that occur every day are not consistent, that is, the hardness and duration of the erection are different.

As long as the structure and function of the nerves, blood vessels and penis plexus are normal, this phenomenon will occur. At this time, the erection of the penis is not disturbed by psychological factors and can simply show the structure and function of the penis. This feature provides an extremely important indicator for the study and treatment of sexual function. Some people believe that the phenomenon of penile erection in the morning can be used as one of the reference indicators for observing men's energy and health status.

The penis of a normal man will erect under direct sexual stimulation or certain external environmental stimulations such as sex-related language, text, pictures, scenes, etc. If it cannot erect, some people worry that it is impotence. In fact, there are two types of impotence: psychological and pathological. The former is just a psychological disorder that causes erection failure and has no organic problems. The latter is really a pathological factor. The two situations are handled differently. Psychological problems can be restored to normal through psychological counseling and the release of psychological barriers; pathological problems can only be cured through a series of examinations and treatments to fundamentally solve the problem.

Morning erections are the easiest way to distinguish between these two situations.

For patients with impotence, if they still have an erection when they wake up in the morning, it may be caused by psychological factors. Otherwise, pathological factors should be considered and further examination is needed.

At present, there are advanced specialized medical examination instruments in China to examine morning and night erections. The instruments currently used are about the size of a palm and can be fixed on the thigh. There are also two leather rings that are put on the head and base of the penis; during a quiet sleep, the number of penis erections in one night and the duration and hardness of each erection can be recorded. This kind of examination is much more objective and accurate than the patient's own observation.
