How to treat impotence

Impotence will affect sexual function and may even affect the patient's fertility. To treat impotence and avoid affecting sexual function, in addition to some Western medicine conditioning, the treatment effect of Chinese medicine will be better, and it can be compared through acupuncture and massage methods. There is no need to take medicine, and it can be cured easily and completely.

The earliest modern report on the use of acupuncture to treat impotence was published in 1935[1]. A large number of clinical observations were made after the 1950s, but they were mainly based on traditional acupuncture. In the 1980s, it gradually developed into the use of various acupoint stimulation methods for treatment, such as electroacupuncture, moxibustion, buried needles, acupoint injection, etc. More detailed observations have also been made on acupuncture and moxibustion. For example, when acupuncture is performed on the lower abdomen or sacral acupoints, the needle sensation can reach the perineum or glans penis directly, and the effect is often better. Even when acupuncture is performed on remote acupoints, it is best to make the needle sensation radiate to the abdomen. At the same time, acupoints have also been screened, and some truly effective acupoints have been summarized. In combination with Western medical anatomical knowledge, some new acupoints have been discovered. In terms of efficacy, acupuncture or various other stimulation methods are roughly similar in effectiveness, with an overall effectiveness rate of more than 90%. Acupuncture also has a certain effect on some organic impotence that is suitable for acupuncture treatment.

It is worth noting that if acupuncture treatment is combined with psychological therapy, it can often achieve twice the result with half the effort.

(I) Acupuncture points

Main acupoint: Sanyinjiao.

(II) Governing Law

After selecting the acupoints, disinfect them with iodine first, and then deiodine them with 75% alcohol. The operator presses the patient's perineum with the thumb of the left hand, and instructs the patient to take a deep breath to close the anus and focus on the glans. Then, hold the grain-shaped intradermal needle (strictly disinfected) with the right hand, insert it upward from Sanyinjiao, and rotate and lift it until the patient feels the needle, then fix it with tape. Both sides are buried. It takes about 5 minutes to press the perineum point each time. The needle is usually buried for 3 days, and it is stopped for 3 days after the needle is removed before burying it again.

(III) Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy

The above method was used to treat 31 cases, of which 28 were cured (90.3%) and 3 were ineffective (9.7%)[13].

(I) Acupuncture points

Main acupoint: Yangwei point.

Acupoints: Divided into 4 groups. 1. Sanyinjiao, Shenshu; 2. Changqiang; 3. Baliao; 4. Guanyuan, Shimen, Qihai.

Location of the impotence points: It consists of five points in total. Draw a line from the umbilicus (Shenque) to the upper part of the pubic symphysis (Qugu point). There is one point each in the upper 1/3, middle 1/3, and lower 1/3; there is one point each 1 inch away from the middle 1/3.

(II) Treatment methods

Medication: 0.5% procaine injection, strychnine injection (2 mg/1 ml) or a mixture of 31 ml of 5% glucose injection and 1 ml of strychnine injection, 2 ml each of salvia miltiorrhiza injection and angelica root injection.
