Some people often have dry coughs in their daily lives, and they are accompanied by vomiting, which is particularly unbearable. Especially when brushing teeth, this symptom will worsen, which should attract people's attention. In medicine, this symptom is often caused by chronic pharyngitis. Chronic pharyngitis Chronic pharyngitis is a chronic inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa, submucosal and lymphoid tissues. Diffuse pharyngitis is often a part of chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract; localized pharyngitis is mostly inflammation of the pharyngeal lymphoid tissues. This disease is common in clinical practice, with a long course and symptoms that are prone to recurrence. Causes of chronic pharyngitis: 1. Upper respiratory tract lesions near the pharynx For example, chronic inflammation of the nasal cavity, nasal sinuses, and nasopharynx may cause inflammatory secretions to flow back through the posterior nasal cavity to the pharynx and irritate the pharyngeal mucosa. Diseases such as chronic rhinitis, nasal septum deviation, chronic sinusitis, adenoids hypertrophy, snoring, or space-occupying lesions of the nasal cavity, nasal sinuses, and nasopharynx affect nasal ventilation, resulting in long-term open mouth breathing, causing long-term excessive dryness of the pharyngeal mucosa and leading to chronic pharyngitis. Chronic inflammation of chronic tonsillitis can directly spread to the posterior pharyngeal wall, causing chronic pharyngitis. If stomatitis is not controlled in time, it can also lead to chronic pharyngitis as the inflammation spreads. 2. Climate and regional environmental changes Changes in temperature and humidity, poor air quality, tobacco and alcohol stimulation, spicy and irritating food, dust, harmful gases and radiation exposure are also causes of chronic pharyngitis. 3. Occupational factors People who use their voice for a long time, such as teachers, singers, and those with susceptible physical conditions may also develop this disease. 4. Systemic factors Chronic pharyngitis can also be caused by anemia, indigestion, gastroesophageal reflux, heart disease (blood circulation disorder affects pharyngeal venous return, causing local congestion in the pharynx), chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, rheumatism, liver and kidney diseases, etc. Endocrine disorders, autonomic nervous system disorders, infection with Ophiopogon nasalis and diphtheria-like bacteria, vitamin deficiency and immune dysfunction are all related to atrophic and dry pharyngitis. 5. Allergy factors Inhaled allergens (including seasonal and perennial allergens), drugs, chemical irritants in the working environment, and food allergens can all cause allergic pharyngitis. |
