In a man's scrotum, there are not only the very important testicles, but also two cord-like tissues, which are composed of the vas deferens and arteriovenous blood vessels. In medicine, this tissue is called the spermatic cord. Varicose veins of the vas deferens are a disease that occurs in this tissue. So, what effects will this disease have on men? 1. Cause blood reflux. The scrotal temperature rises. After varicocele, due to blood stagnation in the varicocele, moderate varicocele can cause the temperature in the scrotum to rise, 0.6℃ higher than normal on average, thus affecting sperm production. When varicocele occurs, it causes blood reflux, which can carry high concentrations of toxic metabolites in the left adrenal gland and left renal venous blood. 2. Local blood flow is not smooth. Varicose spermatic veins can cause local blood flow obstruction. In severe cases, blood reflux is blocked and congestion occurs, which increases the temperature of testicular tissue and causes long-term hypoxia, leading to spermatogenesis disorders. 3. Infertility. When the varicocele occurs, the blood from the adrenal vein and renal vein will also flow back into the testicular tissue, which contains catecholamines, cortisol, hydroxytryptamine and prostaglandins. These active substances can have toxic effects on the testicles, thereby leading to male infertility. According to medical statistics, about two-thirds of men with varicocele will have semen abnormalities, which will reduce the number of sperm, reduce their motility, and increase the number of abnormal sperm, thus leading to infertility. There are two main factors for varicocele to cause male infertility: 1. The stasis of venous blood causes the temperature of the testicles to rise. The occurrence and growth of human sperm requires a temperature below 37°C, which is why human testicles grow outside the body cavity. Varicose veins can increase the temperature of the testicles by an average of 0.6°C, thus interfering with spermatogenesis. 2. Venous blood stasis affects testicular metabolism, causing local hypoxia, accumulation of metabolic waste, poisoning testicular spermatogenic cells and sperm, and inhibiting the production of the male hormone testosterone. |
