The scrotum is a symbol of maleness and a key part of males. It is related to male masculinity, so male friends tend to pay special attention to it and worry about abnormal problems. However, some people often have problems here, such as feeling some pain in their scrotum. So, what causes this scrotal pain? What should we do? Causes of scrotal pain Testicular torsion is one of them. It is common in adolescents and the cause is unknown. If it can be diagnosed and treated in time, it can leave no sequelae. However, if it is not treated in time, it can lead to serious consequences: testicular necrosis, atrophy, sexual dysfunction and/or infertility. Testicular torsion symptoms Testicular torsion is different from other tissue and organ torsion. It occurs without obvious causes and can occur during sleep at night. After the onset of the disease, the scrotum and testicles will produce varying degrees of pain, some progressively worsening, some alternating changes, and some spontaneously improving. Except for a few cases that obviously improve spontaneously in a short period of time, all should be actively treated. What to do if your testicles are torsion? The treatment of testicular torsion is divided into conservative treatment and surgical repositioning. Correct diagnosis is the prerequisite for treatment. Currently, the most widely used, most extensive and most objective method is Doppler ultrasound examination, which is sensitive, economical, simple, easy to observe dynamically and accurate. In addition, magnetic resonance imaging, radionuclide imaging and other examinations can also confirm the diagnosis. Specifically, when the testicle torsions, Doppler ultrasound imaging shows that the blood flow signal in the testicular parenchyma disappears or decreases significantly, the echo becomes low, and there may be echoless fluid accumulation in the sheath. When the treatment is effective, the blood flow signal will appear or return to normal soon; if the necrosis is irreversible, there will be no blood flow signal. Doppler ultrasound is now more popular and has played an unprecedented role in correct diagnosis and treatment guidance. The scrotum is extremely important to men, but because it is a man's privacy, some men are often embarrassed to see a doctor after discovering problems with their scrotum. They are also lucky and think it is not a big problem. However, they do not know that if the problem is serious, it may lead to sexual dysfunction or infertility. |
