For adult men, if the systolic blood pressure is between 90 and 140 and the diastolic blood pressure is between 60 and 90, it is relatively normal. Higher than this standard is high blood pressure, and lower than this standard is naturally low blood pressure. Changes in blood pressure are caused by some physical health conditions. In order to ensure the accuracy of blood pressure measurement, blood pressure measurers also have many things to pay attention to. 1. Normal blood pressure for adult men The normal blood pressure range is 140~90 for systolic pressure and 60~90 for diastolic pressure. If the systolic pressure is higher than 140 or the diastolic pressure is higher than 90, it is hypertension. If the systolic pressure is lower than 90 or the diastolic pressure is lower than 60, it is hypotension. 2. The significance of changes in blood pressure 1. Increased blood pressure: Blood pressure measurements are affected by many factors, such as emotional excitement, tension, exercise, etc. If the blood pressure reaches or exceeds 140 mmHg systolic and (or) 90 mmHg diastolic for at least three different days using standard measurement methods under quiet and sober conditions, it can be considered hypertension. If only the systolic blood pressure reaches the standard, it is called pure systolic hypertension. The vast majority of hypertension is primary hypertension, and about 5% is secondary to other diseases, called secondary or symptomatic hypertension, such as chronic nephritis. Hypertension is an important risk factor for atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, and is also an important cause of heart failure. 2. Decreased blood pressure: Blood pressure below 90/60 mmHg is called hypotension. Continuous hypotension is common in severe diseases, such as shock, myocardial infarction, acute heart attack, etc. Hypotension can also be caused by physical constitution. Patients report that their blood pressure is always low. The patient's lip mucosa is partially white. When the heart contracts and relaxes, the edges of the whitened area change from red to white regularly, which is the capillary pulsation sign. 3. Precautions when measuring blood pressure: 1. The blood pressure monitor should be checked regularly to maintain its accuracy and should be placed stably, never inverted or shaken. 2. Do not inflate too high or too hard. After use, drive out all the air in the cuff and roll it up. The rubber ball must be placed in a fixed position in the box to prevent the glass from breaking. If there is a switch under the mercury column, turn it off after use. If bubbles appear in the mercury column, adjust or repair it. Do not measure with bubbles. 3. If the blood pressure meter is not clear or abnormal, retest it. Let the mercury column drop to "0" and retest. If necessary, measure both upper arms for comparison. 4. For those whose blood pressure needs to be closely monitored, four things should be done as much as possible: fixed time, fixed location, fixed body position, and fixed blood pressure monitor. 5. For patients with hemiplegia, measurement should be made on the healthy arm. |
