Do pearly papules need treatment?

It often occurs in young people and adults, and is more common in people aged 20-40. It occurs in 35% of normal people, and is common in young people with long foreskin and the habit of flopping. It is a physiological abnormality and is not a sexually transmitted disease. It may be related to the long foreskin and more urine scale, which leads to chronic inflammatory excitement.

In terms of treatment, if the patient has foreskin, he should undergo circumcision surgery to prevent irritation from urine scale.

(1) Laser therapy (hospital outpatient equipment treatment)

Advantages: Laser surgery is a high-temperature treatment, with a temperature of over 700°C. The key is to carbonize and scar the pearly tissue. After the scab falls off, the wound is covered by the squamous epithelium of the newborn. The treatment of pearly rash generally uses a carbon dioxide laser generator with a wavelength of 10.6μm infrared light. The preparation before treatment is the same as that of electric ironing. In addition to the thermoelectric effect, its advantages also include pressure, photochemical reaction and magnetic field effects. Therefore, in terms of treatment, it has anti-inflammation (stimulating the body to produce extremely strong defensive immune function), analgesia (dissipating tissue edema, reducing acid and reflex stimulation to peripheral nerves) and promoting tissue repair (enhancing the synthetic metabolism of squamous epithelial cells, promoting epithelial cell proliferation, and accelerating wound repair). Therefore, the treatment time is short and the cure rate is high.

Disadvantages: It is expensive, and imported laser cutting equipment is expensive, so the cost of removing pearl rash is also high and it is very easy to flare up. After the operation, you need to change the dressing regularly to prevent infection until you recover completely.

(2) Cold storage therapy (hospital outpatient equipment treatment)

Advantages: Cryotherapy is a low-temperature treatment. The cooling source is liquid nitrogen, and the temperature is -196℃. During treatment, choose the appropriate camera according to the condition of the pearl rash. To improve the efficacy, you can use the freeze-thaw-freeze method, that is, refrigerate for 1 minute, warm for 3 minutes, and refrigerate for 1 minute. Its advantage is that the actual operation is simple.

Disadvantages: Liquid nitrogen sprays out gas, the total area is difficult to control, and it is very easy to cause blisters, infection and scarring after freezing. It is not as well-known as laser treatment.
