In traditional Chinese medicine, hydrocele is the name of a disease, which mainly refers to the swelling of the scrotum caused by the accumulation of fluid in the scrotum. Clinically, the characteristics of this disease are that there will be no discomfort in the scrotum, no pain or fever, and the color of the scrotal skin is relatively normal, but there will be a round lump in the scrotum. So, what are the specific symptoms of hydrocele? Symptoms of hydrocele 1. Hydrohernia is mostly unilateral. It is manifested by scrotal swelling, tilting to one side, and a smooth swelling inside the scrotum, which is mostly oval. When the swelling is severe, the scrotum is shiny like crystal and swollen and uncomfortable. 2. Congenital hydrohernia can be squeezed out when lying down, causing the accumulated fluid to gradually shrink or even disappear completely. 3. The scrotal skin of primary hydrocele is normal and the tension of the accumulated fluid is relatively large. 4. The fluid in secondary hydrocele is not very tense and is relatively soft. If it is caused by trauma, there is an obvious history of trauma, accompanied by testicular swelling and pain. 5. In case of hydrocele of testis, the testicle is surrounded by fluid, and the testicle or epididymis cannot be touched on the affected side, and only a swelling can be felt. In case of hydrocele of spermatic cord, the testicle can be touched, and there is only a swelling above the testicle. Causes of hydro hernia 1. The kidney governs water, the spleen transports and transforms water and moisture. Congenital kidney qi deficiency, or kidney yang deficiency, water cannot evaporate and become gas; or spleen yang deficiency and coldness, lack of transportation and transformation, water and moisture retention, leading to dysfunction of the normal secretion and absorption of local water, is the basic cause of hydrohernia. 2. Infants with congenital deficiency, or poor closure of the posterior passage of the kidney after descent, or congenital abnormalities, water easily flows down and accumulates in the testicles, resulting in congenital hydrocele. Adults with spleen and kidney deficiency, combined with cold and dampness, suffer from cold and dampness stagnation, which causes this disease; or due to improper diet, internal injuries caused by alcohol and dampness, spleen and kidney damage, internal dampness and heat, which flow down to the genitals and linger; or external injuries to the testicles, blood stasis blocking the renal water channel, can also lead to secondary hydrocele. |
