Treating Male Infertility

Treating Male Infertility

Infertility is no longer exclusive to women. Infertility is often diagnosed in men. Male infertility must be diagnosed very clearly and the relevant causes must be understood. Infertility is caused by problems with the vas deferens or sperm in the body. Male infertility needs to be treated according to the cause of the disease, which requires careful understanding and clear knowledge.

How to treat male infertility

1. Assisted reproductive technology treatment: If after repeated examinations and treatments, the couple is confirmed to be infertile, they must face reality calmly and consider artificial insemination or IVF. It is suitable for patients with azoospermia, oligospermia and asthenospermia. Artificial insemination is a technology that uses artificial methods to inject semen into the female reproductive tract to replace sexual intercourse to make women pregnant. Sperm from sperm banks or the husband's sperm can be used. Artificial insemination has been confirmed as a safe and effective method for treating male infertility.

2. Etiological treatment: For reproductive tract infections such as sexually transmitted diseases, prostatitis, vas deferens, epididymitis, etc., early control of inflammation of the urogenital system is extremely important for the treatment and prevention of infertility.

3. Surgical treatment: Correction of urogenital malformations: Applicable to patients with abnormal development of the urogenital system, including hypospadias, prepuce hyperplasia, etc. Vas deferens recanalization and anastomosis: Applicable to vas deferens obstruction caused by inflammation, tuberculosis, etc. For vas deferens damage that is difficult to recanalize, sperm extraction from the testicles or epididymis can be performed, and the sperm can be separated for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)-embryo transfer (ET).

The best approach to male infertility is prevention. Only by preventing male infertility can we better avoid physical and psychological harm to patients. In fact, in many cases, male infertility can basically be prevented as long as it is treated in time.
